Kokkatt is one of the oldest Nair Tharavad in Central Travancore, located at Mavelikara, Alappuzha Dist, Kerala.

Kokkatt is one among the many ‘thaivazhi’ of  Valiya Kakkanatt Madom. Valiakakkanatt subdivided into four main branches, one among them being the Mavolil branch. From Mavolil branch, the Valaykkakath branch took it’s origin, which further subdivided into the “Valaykkakath Kokkatt” ‘thaivazhi’. Kokkatt Govinda Pillai & Kokkatt Lakshmi Pillai, the brother sister duo, founded the “Kokkatt” which by itself has now grown into a majestic family tree with many branches and sub branches
